How much does a local move cost?
Our crews are billed hourly with a 4-hour minimum: 3 movers and a truck start at $750, 4 movers at $875, and 5 movers at $1,050. Additional hours are $150, $175 and $210 respectively. Fuel and local travel are included in the truck fee.
Is there a charge for stairs?
If your new residence is an apartment above the ground floor, there's a one-time $75 charge per floor ($75 for a second-floor unit, $150 for a third). It doesn't apply to moves into a multi-floor house.
How do I reserve a moving date?
Place a $103 deposit online or mail it to our Bryn Mawr office, payable to Barry Mills Moving and Hauling, LLC. Deposits are non-refundable, and the balance is due before unloading at your last stop.
Do you do long-distance moves?
Yes. Moves more than 250 miles from the Philadelphia airport are long distance: you provide the rental truck and cover fuel and tolls, and our crew drives and handles everything at 70 cents per mile. We've moved customers as far as Oregon.
Can you help a parent downsize or clear out an estate?
That's a specialty. We move belongings to a new residence or storage, deliver pieces to other family members, and clean out entire estates, basements and garages — with the extra patience seniors deserve.
